But they did say that's what they were doing when the app first appeared, right? I'm not imagining it.
Wouldn't ads just be able to appear when the app is in the foreground? I don't think background apps can display ads (on iOS at least). Given that it's meant to run seamlessly in the background, you wouldn't get much scope for displaying ads.
