It's about defence not offence. If you detect and then take control you can land the drone without it causing harm. It's difficult to destroy one as it's likely to be in a highly populated area. It's all electronic and simply take control in mid air is the aim. Most drones use common frequencies even those on a preset course test back to the operator so it's always possible to do a denial of service attack and take control of the drone, fly it anywhere safe and land. No star wars stuff needed here
