The funny thing is most of the tourism in the Gorge is based around gold mining of old, it is a gold mining area and I think NTL's plan re environmental impact is solid. Pretty sure (can spot them on the drive in) there are operations close by which have far greater impact yet no one seems to be moaning about them? Most of NZ rivers are massively polluted from our dairy and agriculture, yet here is a company with a closed loop water plan and there is an small uproar....... ignorance is bliss!
