Thats Fair Load
I have 40 years underground experience 14 of those on the airleg
The guys that are currently working u/g at the mine from what I have seen and heard are mostly employed to do rock bolting and service crew work .
The contractor that employs these guys worked in a shaft /tunnel project in Sydney mostly rock bolting and service crew work A friend of mine was a supervisor there and we discussed their ability .
To become and experienced stope miner you usually start out doing what they are doing then move on to boring and firing drive cuts /level development .Once you can do that you can progress to rise mining and stope mining .
This may take a year or so .
There are not many experienced airleg miners available now.
Dealing with explosives .Any one can bore and hole charge and fire it .
Once you get in a stope you need to know which explosives you need to use and what number detonators to use .Fast or slow .Milli seconds or half seconds . Placing the dets in the holes so you throw the dirt where you want it
So you can see it takes a few years to learn how to be and air leg stope miner .
I have nothing against these guys but if you want to break 50 to 70 tonne a shift you need to have a lot of experience .
Good Luck
Bye the way I know the 8 level very well
