I'm curious as to why so many posters on this thread have something to say but haven't owned or own the stock. What is the interest?
Asset value change doesn't translate into EBITDA. Changes in working capital do not change profit, only cash availability.
If VRS was a retailer they would buy equipment for $X, then sell equipment for $Y. The difference is EBITDA after associated sale costs etc but this isn't part of VRS operations so it won't fall into a segment but fall into corporate activities. If a gain was realised on this sale it would be disclosed. Do you read of any material gains on sale of equipment?
Yes the trend has been down but trends change with product mix, project mix and the like. If they are specifically identifying higher margin projects then they should stabilise EBITDA once old project have been worked through.
Execution has been poor, I don't doubt that. My point is don't drive looking into the rear view mirror.
