And analysts at Shaw and Partners reckon the three coal divestments would be worth around $US7.1 billion ($9.8 billion) in total.Shaws valued the Mt Arthur mine at $US3.2 billion, Cerrejon at $US656 million and the BMC assets at $US3.2 billion, in a note to clients on Wednesday, which questioned why BHP had made "no mention of climate change and carbon neutrality in terms of this exit".The resources behe 1moth also said it would look to sell its Bass Strait assets, which supply gas to Australia's eastern states.
