Their key executives who are their technical leaders are pretty much all in Perth which makes it hard to win work since the lyl key people cannot travel to Africa. Lyl has competition from the likes of Hatch and DRA who have very strong presences in Johannesburg so this situation is making it much tougher for lyl to win projects.
Lyl have good people including technical people in Africa but their high end technical capability which is their differentiator is pretty much all in Perth. So this covid situation is putting them at a disadvantage.
Lyl do have some specific technical skills which their customers need. If a customer needs a particular skill then they will access the lyl person in Perth but people being people winning work is much tougher not meeting face to face.
So the situation is not hopeless but they are at a disadvantage relative to their competition until travel opens up.
