I am guessing all the feasibility studies and design work etc can be done from any office in any country. That is their bread and butter in Perth. But the juicy steak is to win the EPCM contracts to build the mines they (or others) have designed.
And that involves a site construction team(s) overseen by an office team. Many hours of chargeable time. Getting them in/out of Africa etc will be a challenge. EPCM contractors based in Africa, or who have a large presence there, have an advantage until covid restrictions lift.
Also being based in Perth, the state government here thinks its running its own country. The hard border must a source of risk for Perth based LYL.
