Interesting. It's not surprising legislation wouldnt cover helium. However the gas is mixed with the helium, it would be encapsulated as a low percentage (compared to methane) byproduct in their existing rights. Sounds like the regulator needs to just update their regulations to include helium. By the way, a similar thing had to happen recently in WA, because there were no specific regulations around transport and storage of hydrogen. It was nothing to do with whether one could, only that they had to do it safely. I dont see this as a risk to the helium project at all, it is just Tetra4 seeking an agreement with the regulator to make sure they agree on any rules (safety and environmental) which might be specific to helium production.
