Well that depends on the project. TLG have released their results already, which are 96% cleaner than China, and that was before the recent drilling results showing around 40% graphite (which means even less needs to be mined to make the same amount of anode material):https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/ann-industry-leading-green-battery-anode-lca-results.6215096/
But the novonix result is fantastic, especially for synthetic graphite, and yes could be cleaner than some natural projects.
