Both assessments are Cradle to Gate and are partial life cycle assessments.
Either way it will be interesting when a full assessment is done. Natural graphite seems to have lower emissions in production but lifecycle is also lower vs synthetic.
Then the economics of the products will come into play also. For example, major grid scale installations. Will the longer lifecycle be worth higher initial emissions?
