I understand double blind studies where the patient or the practitioner don't know what they are being administered but the person holding the phone saying cough here, surely there is no reason for that person to not be audited to ensure they are following protocol.
There is no reason that a person cant stand outside the room and make sure they arn't talking or laughing, that there isn't extra people inside the room like children running a muck. Just to ensure that the p!ss isn't being taken. They don't see the screen and results but to audit that the required conditions are being met.
Id have thought that this would have been in ER's, someone comes in presenting with conditions in line with the trial. triage them and say cough here, then log that result and compare it to the treating doctors findings.
