The best I could do so far with free data is the EO Browser from sentinelhub at https://www.sentinel-hub.com/explore/eobrowser/
The Sentinel-2 L2A dataset shows the situation at 2022.06.15 (just two days ago!) as:
It is possible to see what might be ore piles in the expected position as shown in the flythru.
Sentine-2 data in this region appears to be refreshed every 2 - 3 days. At this resolution I can see no changes that are convincingly more than visual artifacts in going back about a month. I believe the full dataset does go much further back but have not been able to verify yet.
This is the free online offering - it appears that more features may be available after a free signup which I'll try after dinner. Earlier images would be good as would access to higher resolution (I suspect that's only for people with deep pockets). If anyone has coordinates for Goldplat that would be a big plus.
To the best of my understanding this data is not available through Google Earth Pro.
Hope this is of interest to someone - and still very interested in hearing from anyone that has actual detailed first hand knowledge of how to get access to this sort of data.
