re: Ann: Presentation at CSG 2011 Conference,... I have just read through the presentation and sadly it is of the usual poor quality.
Their claim that they have 20 tcf of "recoverable gas" in permit 855 is a joke.I am not sure who their source is (EIA?), or what they mean by recoverable gas.
The term they use "recoverable gas" is wrong and does not fit in to any of their explanations of what "Prospective Resource", "Contingent Resource" and "Reserves" mean on page 21.
On page 20 , their explanation of 1000 cubic feet (mcf), and bcf and tcf is all wrong. 1000 cubic feet X 10 is 10,000 cubic feet, and X 10 again is 100,000 cubic feet.
A BCF is actually , as it indicates , a billion cubic feet, or 1000 million cubic feet. multiply that by 1000 again and you get a TCF (trillion cubic feet)
Anyway there is more but suffice to say that anyone in a major oil company making such a presentation would probably get fired.
Maybe their math errors explains why they think they have so much gas.
