Hey Spec, Wassa and I were laughing about this the other day as we both have booked really solid profits over the last two years while so many of the so-called experts that we follow have struggled in this market. I wish I could say it was all because of our own brilliance but we both realise this isn't the case as luck has played a huge part as well. Constantly flipping in and out of parcels of shares has been a winning strategy lately however there will come a time in the upcoming precious metals bull market where buy and hold will again be the optimal strategy. @jbad94 will surely take the gold medal when it comes to picking them for FY23!!
WGX has been problematic for me lately as it never seems to have endured a long enough correction to let me rebuild another decent position.
It will be interesting to see how RMS, WGX and SLR comparatively perform this year.
I think GOR might be another smoky to keep an eye on this year as they too have exhausted their hedging positions.
My questions for FY24.
Will gold price outpace costs?
Will GOR play a hand in any future M&A as they are now banking huge profits, or will they sink it all into DEG?
Will WGX buy a few struggling regional exploration plays?
Will CMM develop Mt Gibson during these inflationary times or will they pivot?
Will SLR and RMS buy another producing asset?
Will BGL ramp up meet their lofty expectations?
GMD operations, did they bight off more than they can chew?
RED should be an interesting one, can they continue to incrementally improve operations?
What will NEM's Australian focus be once they've consumed NCM?
What happens with SPR? Do they make it back into production or is a takeover imminent?
What does PRU do with their huge pile of cash?
I'd be interested to know what everyone else watching out for in FY24?
