Hey Glutten, welcome aboard. Hopefully it's a good entry point, but... as anyone who invests in this sector (and has been around for a while, POG can change sentiment in a heartbeat).
I tend to agree with you about the strategic shift towards organic growth, particularly when you marry it with their exit from AME (sure.. it was not a lot of cash in the scheme of things, but...) its a clear statement to the market that they want something that adds ounces to it's production profile in the near to medium term, not 5+ years out, as with AME, which would have required further consolidation, further drilling, mining studies etc etc etc.
I still think they are very keen to acquire inorganic assets (they literally say it), but... the MD is holding his cards close to his chest as to which way they are going to go, as in, additional ounces, or... additional processing plant & ounces, with a focus on U/G resources.
As for the numbers, yes, they could potentially look something like that, though of course fuel prices will have a major say in just how much WGX will make. Plus the myriad of others inputs. The only other comparable company for me currently is SLR, yet, their production profile is 20% less than WGX and will be more as WGX heads towards 300k ounces p.a.
I would actually love to see WGX put the time into explaining to the market that they really do have exploration rich tenements. As they are spending $25m+ for FY24, which is far more than they have ever spent. Particularly on what they think might be found and how it could further enhance their production profile.
For now, I just hope WGX have a solid quarter, with lots of gold sold at spot.
