Good point but I cannot find any information to clarify if the Sodium Ion batteries being developed at CATL are solid state. They seem to be standard form which has its advantages but also some disadvantages. The cost comparison appears to be 20% cheaper than LFP. Would be good to get some comparative stats vs Cerenergy which claim to be 50% cheaper than "Lithium Ion" but does not tell us how much cheaper than LFP specifically.
CATL seem to be planning to use their batteries in cheap/light EV's and energy storage whereas the Cerenergy battery is very much focussed on energy storage.
The size of the market is potentially huge so plenty of room for many players (and technologies) but will come down to finding an appropriate niche and execution. Being an EU focused producer will also be an advantage in that market but speed to market will be important.
All just my opinion. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.
Cheers
