I've commented in the RSG section of HC on RSG. Basically, much richer ore deeper, but not yet "proven" but indicated by other geophysical methods than drilling. Also big ore body close to the existing one. Again indicated by other than drilling geophysical methods (and hence no statuary reporting requirements). In the case of RSG some drilling results on the nearby ore body has now been reported.

Of course, with all these big mines, especially those requiring advanced technology to extract the ore, the various technology contractors talk with each other, they often work together across multiple mining companies, they have to talk in order to make the new technology work. They usually know, or at least have a pretty good idea, who has approximately what resource under development. It often takes a year or two before it gets confirmed by drilling/sampling/geochemical analysis and finally getting reported to shareholders.

These are huge high technology operations, especially deep metals mining and processing. Getting good financial results takes time, but then they are literally "sitting on a gold mine".
