What exactly is wrong with Tucka? I've gone through 100s of pages of historical documents but cannot find one issue other than the cost over-runs when it was commissioned back in 2013. The plant itself was budgeted at 67 million however the end cost blew out to 91 million. There was a dispute between SLR and the manufacturer of the plant however this was settled out of court. The plant was put into care and maintenance due primarily to the low gold price and the lack of suitable higher grade feed to make the project economical. There is zero information out there about any underperfomance issues. On the contrary, it has consistently performed above it's nameplate of 1.2mtpa. The plant has only seen a total of 6 years of operational wear and tear. Hardly what I would call long in the tooth!
In FY22 Big Bell finally showed itself to be a profitable large scale underground mine. Tons extracted per month are above feasibility levels and grade has continued to move in the right direction. As you said @CashedUpBogun "everything hinges on BB " and the signs are encouraging. There's lots of gold in the old girl yet.
