Agree with everything you said except; the appreciation of other people views. No one is obligated to appreciate the view of another.
As a professional with a specific and sought expertise, I (just like Davisite) can be unmoved in my views at times. That said, and to the opposite of davisite (and likely specifically due to where our expertise differs) - I choose to talk less when in the position he has found himself in as their is nothing of value gained.
