Agree with your points above. I would hardly put myself in the raving leftie brigade however I know enough science to know that global warming is real. Not a reply to anything issue you have raised, more a general comment for all, but there is no way, NO WAY, you get enough power to push a 747 Cargo variant through the skies using solar, same same for a container ship using wind/solar. Unlikely to see them go nuclear as well for shipping so we are left with diesel (bio diesel maybe) with wind assistance. Either way, our comfortable, globalised world providing us with fresh canadian lobsters and french truffles one day after being picked cannot be sustained without fossil fuels. Dont get me started on military needs (which is in my bailiwick).
Love the idea of Denmark and Germany being highly successful with mainlining renewables but its the mobile uses of power which create problems for us. Tesla's plans for EV trucks is interesting.
