Technologies aside . As the EV storage revolution really takes hold with its wide spread application across the even wider Global economies , IMO it doesn't really mater what the composition of the battery , it's life and / or it's efficiencies. As the fact of the matter is that it makes sense for the ongoing development of the battery to gravitate to the lower cost below the $100 kWh battery cell.
This is the whole key in driving the ever evolving technologies forward. So it has to keep changing and developing , and it makes sense that it will depend increasingly more on the ' Mature ' Nickel markets to factor in this ultimate push to lower costs and higher efficiencies.But at the end of the day , and even if the Lithium composition was to drop to 10% or slightly below . 10% of a very BIG number is still a very very large amount of Lithium ultimately required and having to be found , produced , and dug out of ground . And this take time.....time which I don't reckon we have enough of given the speed of these changes......
