GCY has found higher grade gold in good quantities right next to the plant. I think the current action in WGX is not only a reaction to the price of gold, which in $A has been fairly steady, but to the increasing problems with diesel fuel price and global shortage due to lack of sufficient refining capacity, and Ukraine war complications. WGX is mining gold around 2.7 g/t average which is not too bad these days, but its a lot of rock to move for that little bit and a lot of diesel is burned driving that heavy equipment around the clock to get it. Gas prices are climbing too.
Can see the better margins from Big Bell at full production will likely be eaten up by higher costs.
WGX does not need any corporate action. Surviving the adverse winds of costs is the main thing at the moment.
If you want to bet on gold rising in $A terms in the rasonable future, its a good levered punt. You will need patience but there are plenty out there.
Fingal might surprise on the upside. That is being drilled in the next 4 months. But is anyone much interested in gold stocks now? Its risk off all over. A wild card is the $US. I have just seen a report that China is about to dump $1 trillion worth of $US on world currency markets as a wind up for the US regime. What will that do for the $US gold price? Up, likely. But in $A? Thats the question.
