Yes, the announcement would suggest that inoperable pancreatic cancer (the tumour is sticking to a major artery or extensively to a major vein, probably the latter in these cases) has been downstaged by a period of brachytherapy with the Oncosil implant. This is not unique - SBRT and chemotherapy/standard radiotherapy are known to do the same in a certain percentage of patients. Sadly, although this downstaging may allow a Whipple procedure, these patients usually are not cured because of micro metastases.
