Yesterday, OncoSil Medical was pleased to provide an update on the progress of the company’s Global Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Study Programme.
Out of the initial 20 patients enrolled in our study, three patients have now undergone surgical resection with curative intent.
Surgical resection findings to date are an important milestone, as it demonstrates an improved outcome in a patient study group who were deemed inoperable when enrolled.
A further three patients are currently being assessed by their clinical team for surgical resection.
Surgical resection is the only potential cure for pancreatic cancer, with less than 15% of all pancreatic cancer patients at initial diagnosis being eligible for resection.
Our clinical study continues to grow, with 40 patients currently enrolled. Participating study centres in Belgium and the US have recently implanted their first patients, bringing the total number of patients successfully implanted with the OncoSilTM device to 31.
