They would be getting regular updates though from the laboratory. That would be weekly or even daily.
If you run a trial and half the people turn into pink horses, they can't just say they are waiting for results if all the samples turn blue when tested.
Same applies the other way - if results are no throwing up nasty surprises, BIT would know. They may not want to prematurly release the data to the pulic, but they would know how the testing is tracking.
