have to agree with you Dr Seuss , I traded Utility options in the USA from 1999 to 2000 , (around the time of Enron) as a home day trader I made very little money even though I worked in the electric utility industry , as the big investers there were market makers they were far more savy plus lots of insider semi legal information was available to Hedge Funds and I the home trade was left carrying at a loss after they sold out, sometimes that info was only 30 minutes difference in availability but it makes a big change on a fully paid or option price in that time frame.
Far easier on the ASX to make money providing one specialises on particular sectors or has associates with those skill sets to bounce ideas off.
