I'm going to shift the discussion over here on the PLS thread
wouldn't hurt to revive this thread
Bombers this is your recent post

So the question really is, what is the lithium metal content of AVZ's product PLS lithium sulphate monohydrate (Li2SO4.H2O) ?!

I did some digging and yes you are right I misconstrued the recent reporting on primary lithium sulfate(content only not the pricing!)https://hotcopper.com.au/data/attachments/3282/3282939-dd45177339099d7e80ae93bdd4ce7885.jpg

I can't find anything about the processing from primary lithium sulfate to lithium hydroxide nor the breakdown of what percentage Lithium metal is contained in the AVZ product PLS lithium sulphate monohydrate (Li2SO4.H2O).https://hotcopper.com.au/data/attachments/3282/3282942-37b3ebaee3643248d639c2fa57730619.jpg

so Approximately 9kg of spodumene concentrate (SC6) from the approximately 6.1% (Li2O) was processed.Which yielded 1.5 kg of Primary Lithium Sulphate (PLS) material ( an intermediate product, this is called midstream processing)
which achieved a lithium recovery of 84-88%.
Solution purification yielded a purified leach solution very low in metal contaminantsSC6 was converted from an “alpha spodumene” to a “beta spodumene”, recovering the around 84 to 88% of the contained lithium metal. ( this is where I got it from
Simple roasting and leaching of the SC6 substrate yielded a high-purity lithium sulphate with less than 20% sodium and potassium sulphate impurities. Both impurities can be easily removed by downstream processing, to create a lithium hydroxide feedstock for use in the production of lithium batteries.

    PLS product ..the Advantages:
    ▪ Value add, reduces logistics burden and waste management at LiOH plant in Europe / US / India. etc...

    Stage 1b(1) –producing up to a 45.6 kt/a PrimaryLithium Sulphate (CAPEX of ~US$179 M)

Stage 2 (2) – Add additional 20kt/a LCE Primary Lithium Sulphate trains ▪ Chose a new site and raise funds to develop this. additional PLS capacity

Stage 3 (3) –Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate Plant▪ Commenced Conceptual Design Study with Tier 1 Canadian engineering company

1 Stages 1a and 1b and 1c will be executed at the same time
2 Stage 2 will be executed after Stages 1a and 1b are completed, unless demand and finance underpin starting this development sooner and offtake agreements are in place
3 Stage 3 will be executed as a standalone project, separately studied and financed with LiOH offtake agreements
