Interesting article in The Age today regarding Andrew Forrest's land tenure surrounding the HyEnergy project site in WA. There is no doubt Andrew Forrest has ambitions to take hydrogen production 'from a garage scale to industrial scale'. This ambition will allow Andrew Forrest to not only to meet his 'carbon neutrality targets', but also to help establish Australia's next big export to countries with an appetite for green hydrogen. Countries in Asia are an obvious choice due to their close proximity but Forrest has singled out Germany and has big plans for the nation who could be delivered green hydrogen as early as 2023 (One of the key factors that excites me about the GEV MOU with ILF Engineers). The biggest question now, is how does green hydrogen get from Western Australia to markets around the world? GEV has a competitive, carbon neutral concept that can provide the missing link to that problem, that has since secured government funding under the Western Australian Renewable Hydrogen Fund (ASX Announcement 8 September 2021). The scoping study (released 1 March 2021) shows GEV's concept 'can deliver a technically feasible, zero emission compressed hydrogen supply chain with a competitive shipping range using 100% green hydrogen, consistent with a net zero future. Lets hope when the results of the HyEnergy feasibility study into GEV's concept are released in 1H 2022, the theoretical scoping study is endorsed practically.
