What it is that bothers you so much about buddy parse? It's something they are already setup to do so it costs practically nothing to implement. Developers were willing to pay Facebook even with free options available so it's reasonable to assume some will continue to want a paid service. It's easy money for buddy. They are a start up and I like the idea of them going after revenue wherever they can get it. Facebook ditched parse because it wasn't worth their time. At this point any revenue is worth Buddy's time. It's a smart move and as a shareholder I'm pleased that they are doing it. And as a developer myself I can see the value in a paid service for high volume apps.
