I would have thought that this was a considered withdrawal in that the TGA went back to the company with all the additional information it required and on that basis the company decided it was not in a position at this point to provide that information. There is nothing to be gained in forcing the TGA to refuse the application. The company knows what additional information it has to supply the next time.

Also on the appointment of Prof Ricky Sharma, I might be playing ducks and drakes but I see that in his bio he is described as specialising in radiotherapy but no mention of brachytherapy. And yet the company highlights that "OncoSilTM is our breakthrough† brachytherapy device". As an absolute novice I wondered why the company highlighted the specific - that it is placed internally - rather than the more general - that it is a therapy using radiation. I would have thought in this case the more general is more important than the specific.

I also noticed a company that refers to itself as being into radiopharmaceutical products, both for diagnostic and therapeutic uses, is in the process of IPO'ing (it's name is something like Radiopharm and the IPO I think is closed so not cross-promoting). Two things of note is that they already have a number of products going down the clinical trial route, at phase 1 and phase 2 stage, and one area they are looking to focus on is pancreatic cancer.

I suspect Oncosil need to refocus themselves into the radiotherapy space and they need to pull their fingers out and start doing some randomised clinical trials (is that even possible with pancreatic cancer?).
