Ann: Professor Fiona Wood AM joins Orthocell Board, page-2

Excellent addition to the Board. For those who have not heard of Woods, she is a rather revered as one of the leading burns surgeons and researchers in the world. She has been a bit of a pioneer in the Australian medical world and very familiar with getting innovative new treatments in use.

She was made a member of the Order of Australia, apparently was recognised as an Australian National Living Treasure, and named Australian of the Year back in 2005. For our purposes, she is a very big cheese in medical research and literally the most eminent practitioner in her field of burns - some might recall years ago the media attention of a Garuda flight crash here Wood flew Yogyakarta and then later involved in the Bali bombings to assist in the emergency medical response for burn patients including Australians of course.

I didn't realise she was involved in Avita until I read the report. I am really liking the new blend of Board members. THis one is particular quality. So much better than the usual useless and greedy independent director (mate of mates) snouts at the trough.
