It's a good question. I wouldn't exactly say I've got my finger on the consumer pulse any more than I have my finger on the mining capex pulse.
In fact, I've commented previously that whilst retail sales have been fairly strong in recent years, it's on the back of a number of years of really low numbers. But crucially, many years (decades, I think) of crunching price deflation appears to be reversing, especially in the household goods space.
So who knows?
My comment was more about NCK's strong correlation (presumably) to the housing market, which appears to be unsustainable strong.
