You clearly haven't been following the share since it actually started the buyback...
CTD issued the buyback in 25/10/2023 with a proposed 6 million in shares to be considered for the buy-back (4.1% of all shares on issue).
Since then there have been exactly 30 trading days of buy-backs... this is over a 117 trading day window averaging out 25.6% with about half of these actually occurring within the last month. The value was $12,320,930 over 738,709 shares over which time the share price moved from $18.82 at the start of the buyback period to the current to $15.11 at yesterday's close.

Compare this with KGN which commenced the buy-back on 12/05/2023 with a proposed buyback of 10,692,760 shares (10% of all shares on issue).
Since KGN started the buy-back, there have been ~250 trading days and they have bought back 141 times (56.4% take up rate) for a total of 6,586,939 with a value $33,235,339. Considering they stopped buying over about a month ago after the share price peaked to ~$8.36 from $4.14 at the time of buyback.

So you can quite clearly see the difference between a strong take up rate + higher $ value value re-purchased has clearly had a more favourable outcome.
Now I understand these are different companies, but if you compare its more closely related peers as mentioned, it has still come out far worse over the same time period, neither of which had buy-backs... You claim the other companies are in worse standing, yet the investor would still have been better off invested in any of those shares over the same time period.

If you compare the general nature of the buyback, which only lasts a year unless extended, then the performance and execution has been mediocre compared to other buy-backs that have taken place. None of these are particularly appealing to an investor who has actually taken the time to observe the buy-back behaviour over an extended period of time and across other companies. You would do well to not provide information that is short-sighted without the depth or timeframe needed to make the conclusions you have given. The fact you think CTD has been buying back every day over the period since the buy-back started shows you have only been attentive over the last month.
