    Sorry I didn't make it clear enough you are right. The 180K or 90K is added to your income and is then what you have to pay.

    Total tax paid on that, considering no other income is ~52K without CGT 50% or ~19K with it. Big difference in total tax paid even for small timers with only $20K invested in such a scenario. When you are dealing with millions it matters a lot more.
