That's the way it was when I was there a dozen or so years ago. We walked into the Talisman portal & had about a 10kmh breeze in our faces.
After walking 1/2 into the Talisman mine the mystery tunnel branched off to the left. If you walk the entire length of the mystery tunnel, it dead ends on what I believe was called the crown mine. That's where I stopped exploring but was told if you turn left at that tee intersection it goes out to open air.
What I didn't question at the time was the condition of the old crown mine tunnel. It's likely it would need some refurbishment before it could be considered a second exit. Also, I don't know what it might be like once you get out to open air. Possibly a road would need to be cut or refurbished as well. Surely, it'd have to be more than a hole in the side of a mountain into the middle of the bush with no travel route from there.
