Von Rico says CM8 is playing with themselves because the big players have invested billions. the last part is correct, the first part isn't. Reality is that Microsoft, Google, Oracle etc have been very ordinary in developing innovation. instead they BUY it. Most innovation comes from "skunkworks" ie a few guys working without boundaries, stumble in something, then run with it. That's exactly what happened with CM8 and AFLR when they stumbled on how to make the data lightweight and thus it can move fast and at low cost. No amount of money discovered the winged keel, it was Ben Lexcen's crazy thinking - yet it changed yacht design forever. You belittle yourself with narrow thinking, don't do it. Crowd is onto something very big here.
