Hybrid vehicles though, are booming, and in demand. That is a much better idea. The car market has now woken up to that. Smaller batteries but you can make many more of them because they are not so resource greedy and the vehicles don't weigh double a petrol car. This is where the lithium and the rest of it will go, and there still won't be enough. So prices will rise, maybe before too long.
At the moment there is the train wreck of the accelerating over the falls collapse of the idea of fully electric cars etc. Yes, the emo zealots will kick and scream, but it's a matter of basic economics. If you want to make half a billion electric cars and there is only enough raw materials for 5% of that at most, it cannot work, can it?

But hybrids? The resources will stretch to a lot more of them. Very low on fuel, No refill anxiety. No drain on stretched grids. No range anxiety. Taxi business dream. Motor manufacturers who survive will all swing to hybrid offerings. Plus petrol cars.continue. Hybrids too have their limitations. Towing, for example.

agree high trax with hybrid taking over . they will just start to build bigger batteries in hybrids so most of your around the town driving will be electric. my next car is a hybrid. use aboyt 1/3 the lithium but all new cars coming will be hybrid or total EV. No way id buy a new diesel that market is done.
