I don't think the market believed the AISC figures in the previous DFS. In some of the previous Sprott and other broker analysis they stress tested against the Simberi operating costs and suggested something more like US$900 -1000/oz, and this is more inline with that.
The capex increase is a concern as the funding is clearly not there even with the Sprott facility. It was already a fairly hefty capex as well. Hopefully those capex hurdles can evaporate if gold can resume its uptrend. This is still play on higher gold prices however it is actually a deliverable project wiht 1Moz of reserves in the ground.
One thing I like about this release is good detail and not trying to sugar-coat the numbers. This is a real estimate with a high level of accuracy. Seems like some good engineering and governance work has been done and just generally more polish in this release.
