If you look at the geothermal announcement you'll see there is very little money at risk. Virtually all the payments hinge on successful outcomes. The cash component is trifling in the scheme of things, and there's some nice upside there if it works. I think its a smart, low risk move. Certainly less risky than waiting to get hit by the green bus.
