What a media circus! I cannot believe the media attention given to this man. He voluntarily became an Islamic mercenery. He went to conflicts such as Kosovo, Afghanistan etc. He was caught in a field of war with like-minded individuals. These people in general do not stand for Australian principles nor our way of life.Quite the opposite. How people can put forward David Hicks as some form of martyr is beyond me. I guess if we apply a few suppositions such as, if you forgive Jack the Ripper those five bad nights he was probably a nice guy, and also the fact that Hitler's mother loved him dearly,as he did his mother. Then we can accept Saint David's piety. Sorry not Saint maybe that should be Imam David. He should be treated no more favourably than someone eg who has been incarcerated for assault, at least they had the tackle and stupidity to do something direct and not hide behind an RPG as we often see Imam David in his PR shots.(pardon the pun) Leave the guy to contemplate his own stupidity, we as a community have expended enough resources and government dollars on someone who is essentially a very silly boy, (that is right, he is not the messiah.) I hope I never hear of this unfortunate individual again, however, our media will ram him down our throats for the next while. No doubt one of his next stops will be Andrew Denton's "Enough Rope"; then the David Hicks action doll redesigned for Australian conditions ie it will face the MCG every time a wicket is taken. And so on it goes, David Hicks, a few words of advice, just piss off and lose yourself in our BEAUTIFUL FREE country somewhere and lets not hear of you again.
