The SPP in 2021 had $36.6m applications compared with a target of $25m. BGL accepted all applications in full. This SPP was extended a number of times before it was finally closed. BGL share price during the SPP period was weak and barely got above the SPP price.
This time the target is only $10m and the share price is materially north of the SPP price. Consequently, I am expecting very heavy scale back this time round. I think we will be lucky to get $5000 of shares. BGL should close the SPP early - may be tomorrow.
