Well yes, the Pearl Copper Project locates us squarely in the Tier 1 Laramide Porphyry Belt - remarkably, it must be said, for a minimal upfront outlay.
And that prospective opportunity - It lies immediately north of BHP’s San Manuel-Kalamazoo Mine, one of the largest deposits in the Copper Province and is also located within the same geological trend as Capstone Copper’s Pinto Valley mine which to date has produced over 4 billion pounds of copper ...that elephantine opportunity for discovering a porphyry copper deposit of our own, is undoubtedly the wider game.
But look at the ground.
It hosts over 50 artisinal copper workings and two historic mining centres, Pearl and Ford, which present immediate exploration targets for higher-grade vein type copper/polymetallic mineralisation.
Indeed, in a great find by Gaspanic (https://hotcopper.com.au/posts/74365617/single), you you can get a flavour of the outstanding historical (1942) grades that the Ford Mine, for example, had to offer. It was blocked out at the time to report assays of 3.02% lead, 1.75 ounces (48.5g) of silver per ton, 7.8 ounces (221g) of gold per ton and 3.7% copper.
So on the same ground, with a modicum of luck, there exists the opportunity to crack this nut open ourselves - progressively in stages, applying modern techniques and technologies to finding and exploiting more of these high-grade shoots first.
And in any case, I doubt on any hint of success in such a location, we'd have any shortage of JV partners - with the requisite deep pockets - come knocking.
