Also saliva test for diagnosis of COVID-19, this will be very handy with children and infants, lots of kids needing testing with child care centre and school outbreaks of COVID-19.

This is going to take time & validation, but it doesn’t seem that COVID-19 will be eradicated anytime soon, but looking forward to an update on progress. Grants were awarded in May 2020 for this research and test development:

The biomarker test for severity of disease will be interesting, hopefully this can give treating Drs an indication of which patients are most at risk & guide earlier diagnostic screening (ie for lung inflammation, myocarditis, neurological etc) & treatment. With death rates increasing in Australia, it couldn’t come soon enough.

More research on this in the USA to develop a test and interesting they may have found a link to increased disease severity in diabetes:
