Well….according to the release, there are 1.3 million people in Australia living with diabetes. If 10,000 of them take the test annually (that being less than 1% of the total) that equals $2.45 million per annum in gross revenue, which is more than what some on HotCopper are predicting as initial revenues.
So while it’s not ideal to launch without a reimbursement status, the numbers above would appear to be reasonably achievable I would have thought - that being less than 1% of the total diabetic population willing and able to self fund the cost of the test. Imagine the numbers if and when reimbursement is granted.
