My laymen's take on your explanation is kind of the way I feel about Amazon. Their ecommerce store is hugely popular because they have aligned themselves with human nature. Make everything easy (or at least, easier than the competition, e.g. Walmart, Target) and customers will choose the easier way most of the time.
