It’s a co-sell program for organizations that provide software solutions that run on or integrate with AWS.
AWS reps get a cash bonus &/or quota retirement any time they sell an ISV product.
In theory it’s supposed to be beneficial to the ISV partners like PRO since AWS reps are now incentivised to open up their customer networks to PRO’s reps & help them sell more Emite.
However in practice there are 2 big challenges:
1. There are A LOT of ISV partners. About 3500. AWS reps can’t possibly know/recommend more than a handful to their customers. So 99% of ISV partners don’t get any business from the partnership.
2. The relationship is VERY one-sided. The AWS reps can’t be bothered to learn other vendors/products so unless a PRO rep brings a ready-to-close deal to an AWS rep on a silver platter the AWS rep won’t care. Basically the AWS reps expect the ISV reps to do all the work while the AWS rep just tags their name on a deal & collects the ‘co-sell’ comms.
