It really all comes down to: What is the customer want? –Whatwill the customer buy without hesitation?
If you look at the Tesla Twitter Feed, Elon Musk has builta better mousetrap, but I think all those very happy Telsa owner justmiss “their Mom at a shopping centre pushing them around in ashopping trolley”
People need Transport – at a price they can payfor!
People need Power – at a price they can pay for!
ASX:WES is looking at the future getting the right assetsin the right place!
Lithium is one of those assets.enables batteries enables electric cars.
Anyway, here is my "napkin maths" forthe electric car:
Electric: It would take a50 KiloWatt Solar power station to run an electric car...
That is 150 panels @ 300Watts per panel (approx)
at$200.00per panel -- that is $30,000.00 !!
and those panels last30years...
Diesel: I fill the 60 litre tankwith$100.00 (say about 15 fills a year)
that is 15 x $100.00x 30years...
That is $45,000.00....
So, in 30 yearsI would rather take 150 panels to the dump, than burnandsmell 27,000 liters of diesel for30years.
Background:
=============================================
From the Tesla energy consumption figures https://ev-database.org/car/1088/Tesla-Model-S-100Ds https://ev-database.org/car/1088/Tesla-Model-S-100D
The Teslacar uses Highway - Mild Weather --> 20.9kWh/100km
or20.9 kWatts per hour at 100kms/hr(highway driving)
Your solarPanels Power station is collecting at 50 kWatts/hr.
Area of panels eg., Dimensions L x Wx D→ 1956 x 992 = 1.94 sq meters
so 150 * 2.0 square meters = 300 sqmeters
1 acre = 4046 square meters ie., (4 suburban houseblocks)
So you need 1 suburban house block to run ONEelectric car!!!
As regards the property market: I suspect that half acre suburban house blocks are the only valuable Australian house sitesin the future.
Me -- I bought 60 Acres, 30 years ago
