It is my understanding that yesterday marked the 25th anniversary of the great Australian movie 'The Castle'. A story about an aussie battler taking a multinational corporation (The Barlow Group) all the way to the supreme court, in a bid to stop the relentless pursuit of profit at the expense of the Australian family.
Perhaps the metaphorical baton has now been passed to the Resapp retail investors, who are in line to be burnt in the event that this offer is accepted.
Hard earned Australian dollars have been put into this company during its development and we'll be buggered if they think they can waltz in and snap it up for the equivalent of a Hamptons holiday house.
Make no mistake, this technology will gain traction in an era of substantial change to the way health services will be delivered. This type of tech is akin to the car taking over from the horse and carriage. We can't produce a pipeline of medical professionals quick enough to meet demand, in the future we will need to either let our expectations of health services slide, or augment / supplement with technology such as Resapps.
Regardless of what c**p position the company appears to have found themselves in, the reality is that Resapps technology is groundbreaking and those that supported it in its infancy deserve better than Pfizer flipping us pocket change on the way to a better world.
If this is a strategic move by the company, with more to transpire then time will tell, however in the event that this does progress; then its up to retail to investors to vote, and as Darryl John Kerrigan of 3 Highview Crescent Coolaroo once said "Tell 'em to get stuffed".
