THIS BEGS THE QUESTION … If the situation is really so dire, why is Habeck refusing to reopen Germany’s nuclear power plants, or at least to keep the ones it still has running online longer? (Germany is shutting down its three remaining nuclear power stations at the end of this year.)
A new expert report, obtained by Süddeutsche Zeitung, says Germany’s biggest power plant could be kept on the grid until 2028, and currently available nuclear fuel rods would keep it running until summer 2023. “From a safety point of view” there are “no concerns,” the expert opinion by certification company TÜV says.
